Just got word that Merrittville and Peterborough are rained out, too.MOTHER NATURE WINS 2005 SEASON OPENER AT MERRITTVILLE SPEEDWAYThorold, Ontario – With wet weather and cold temperatures management decided to cancel the 2005 Season Opener on Saturday. Both the forecast and radar maps showing 80 % chance of rain and chilly damp, windy temperatures. Speedway Management felt they did not want subject our great fans and race teams to these conditions.
Our 54th consecutive season opener has been re-scheduled for Saturday May 7th with gates opening at 5:00 and the first green flag at 7:00pm.
