MERRITTVILLE: Teams take part in 'Inspection Day', in spite of the weather

RACE TEAMS WEATHER STORM AS MERRITTVILLE HOSTS INSPECTION DAY: "Thorold, Ontario - More than 30 DIRT Weekly Racing Series Teams weathered the elements April 23rd - getting a head start on Tech & Safety Inspections at Merrittville Speedway.

The day was originally scheduled to include an on track practice session for all divisions - the L. St. Amand Enterprises 358 Modifieds, Original Pizza Logs Sportsmen, Seneca Niagara Dwarf Cars/Mod Lites, Hoosier Stocks and 4 Cylinders. Rain and cool temperatures lead to the cancellation of all on track activity.

"With the season opener as it will be now," relates GM Erica Bicknell, "we thought it would be best to inspect local cars and get a head start on next week. We've got to thank the race teams that did attend and our staff ... the (weather) conditions certainly weren't the best."
