From the Barrie Advance....

Barrie GP back on.: "Barrie council has given the green light to a new organizer to run the Barrie Grand Prix.

A couple of weeks ago, Xtreme Motorsports opted not to operate the 6th-annual Grand Prix of Barrie this June, due partially to the city's refusal to allow a motorcycle show.

After that announcement, ASN Canada, the primary motorsports sanctioning authority in Canada, spearheaded a search for a replacement organization to run the event, scheduled for June 24 to 26.

'ASN Canada has been involved with the Grand Prix of Barrie for the past five years and considers this event a vital component of their karting program which provides the youth of Ontario with a family-oriented and positive behaviour driven activity,' said Barrie's community events co-ordinator Fred Andrews.

Cameron Motorsports will run the races. The Ontario-based kart sport company runs complexes in Hamilton and Bowmanville. "
