KARTING: Mike Vincec joins Cameron Motorsports

Canada’s premier 80cc shifter driver wins first time out for Cameron Motorsports

HAMILTON, ONTARIO- Last week, was a very busy week for Canada’s premier 80cc shifter kart driver, Mike Vincec. Early in the week, Vincec joined Cameron Motorsports for the 2005 season, just days before being scheduled to run the WKA George Kugler Manufacturer's Cup Series presented by Bridgestone event at BeaveRun Motorsports Complex in Wampum, PA. Then on the weekend, in his first event for his new team, he took his new Cameron Motorsports CRG Road Rebel and dominated taking the pole and a convincing win on Saturday at Beaverun.

“It is a good move for me,” Vincec said of the move. “Cameron Motorsports is really behind this move they have a very professional atmosphere there. Also, they are very positive in the way they approach racing it’s a good home for me.”

Cameron Motorsports’ Bob Cameron is excited about his new charge. “Michael is a class act, and I know he will fit in well here. We knew he was extremely fast, and the combination of him, our CRG chassis, and our team should be a winning combination this year.”

The WKA Manufacturer’s Cup race was Vincec’s first ‘duty’ for Cameron Motorsports this past weekend at Beaverun, in Wampum. PA. The first time Vincec saw his new CRG Road Rebel was when Cameron Motorsports pulled it out of their trailer for practice. Vincec was fast out of the trailer and easily took the pole. “The Road Rebel is a great chassis,” Vincec said. “I am impressed with the overall grip and the brakes are fantastic it wasn’t hard to go fast on this chassis.”
Trevor Wickens, who was tuning for Vincec, was impressed with how fast his new driver got up to speed. “He is great to work with,” Wickens said. “He is very hands on, and knows just how he wants his chassis to perform. We clicked right away.”

With the cancellation of the pre-final due to weather, Vincec led from pole for the final and took a dominating win for Cameron Motorsports. “It was a perfect weekend, other than the weather,” Vincec said. “It is good to get my first win for Cameron Motorsports, and I am sure there will be more to follow.”
