NASCAR CANADA: Inks Major Licensing Deal with ‘The Trio Group’

TORONTO, ON - NASCAR Canada and The Trio Group announced today a partnership to launch a NASCAR licensed product collection that includes apparel, soft good accessories and a home furnishing assortment, to be in-store across Canada beginning June 2005.

This multi-year, extensive agreement is a major licensing deal for NASCAR Canada and aligns the NASCAR brand with a Canadian industry leader in The Trio Group.

The NASCAR licensed merchandise collection will be available on a national basis at Mark's Work Wearhouse and select Canadian Tire stores. As The Trio Group's NASCAR-branded product offering grows, distribution in Canada will expand to service all levels of retail.

"NASCAR merchandise is in high demand and to-date has had limited supply in Canada. This new deal with The Trio Group takes the NASCAR brand places it has never been before with strategic and pervasive retail coverage across Canada," said Randy Paul, Managing Director, NASCAR Canada.

"We are extremely pleased about this new partnership as it will help NASCAR penetrate the Canadian marketplace," said Mark Dyer, Vice-President of Licensed Products, NASCAR. "We believe the unique and stylish products created by The Trio Group, combined with NASCAR Canada's marketing support, will greatly benefit consumers and be well-received by Canadian NASCAR fans."

The Trio Group's NASCAR licensed products include high-quality casual clothing such as t-shirts, sweatshirts, hats and jackets, with an emphasis on comfort and easy care. The apparel is available in adult, children, toddler and infant sizes and comes in various fabrics including cotton, cotton-blends, nylon and fleece. The Trio Group will also produce select soft good accessories and home furnishing products. The flagship products of these two categories are backpacks, duffel bags, lunch bags and bedding, which includes sheet sets, shams and comforters.

"We are very excited about this great opportunity with NASCAR Canada," said Lloyd Prizant, Vice-President, The Trio Group. "We're looking forward to many years of servicing the consumers needs and demands."
