Ryan Litt Nominated for Inside Track “Readers Choice Award”

From Litt PR, April 26, 2005 – Vote for Ryan! Ryan Litt, the 18-year-old USAC Sprint Car and Midget competitor from Lyons, ON, has been nominated for an Inside Track Motorsport News “Readers Choice Award” in the “Up and Coming Stock Car Racer of the Year” category for the 2004 race season, along with seven of his peers. Litt is one of very few Canadians who regularly competes with the United States Auto Club (USAC).

In 2004, Ryan started the season off with a USAC Midwest Ford Focus Midget Car feature win at Anderson, Indiana. He then reeled off three runner-up finishes in a row in the next three Midwest division events and led the points until midway through the season, when some bad luck and mechanical troubles slowed him up slightly. Ryan still finished the year with 14 top-10 finishes, seven podium finishes, and third place in the Midwest points standings.

He also took a feature win in the inaugural Ford Focus Midget Oklahoma region event at the Concordia Highbanks Speedway in Kansas last season, and made his debut in a USAC National Sprint Car at the Anderson Speedway in Indiana, and the Nashville Fairgounds Speedway in Tenessee. This season Ryan has his sights set competing in all of the USAC National Sprint Car series events on pavement, and has competed in selected Midget events over the winter during the indoor racing season.

Unfortunately Ryan’s second scheduled National Sprint Car event at the legendary Winchester Speedway in Indiana was cancelled due to a forecast of cold temperatures, rain, and possible snow this past weekend. He’ll next be in action during the four days of festivities at Anderson Speedway which lead up to the famous Little 500 on the Saturday night before the Indianapolis 500.
