BARRIE SPEEDWAY: Mall show report....

Barrie Speedway's Dave Vokey shares some highlights of the recent Bayfield Mall show, including an interview with Ltd. LM rookie Joey McColm, who will pilot a Dave Whitlock-esque Avenue Motor Works car in '05.

Welcome to Barrie Speedway: "Spring mall shows signal approach of racing season

By Dave Vokey

The Bayfield Mall in Barrie was home to a large number of stock cars from Barrie Speedway last week and the 2005 hardware certainly looks terrific. Along with race cars from all 3 divisions, Barrie Speedway's slick new DODGE Viper Pace Car was also on display.

The show was extremely well-attended with Barrie Speedway's Brad Moran hard-pressed to keep up with the questions and comments from fans that came out to see the 2005 Late Models, Thunder Cars and Pure Stocks. As with the Orillia Square Mall earlier in April, a great mix of veterans and newcomers had their machines on display.

'Well, the guys have certainly outdone themselves this year', says Moran. 'There's tremendous excitement about the new track, and the teams have obviously really stepped up there efforts again this season. You won't see a more professionally prepared group of race cars anywhere.' "
