News & Notes

Sunset Speedway has paved its pit road....

"The pit paving project has been completed, well ahead of schedule! Crews came in on Monday looking to prepare the surface to take the asphalt. The prep went so well that the asphalt was ordered early, arriving at 3:00pm, and the whole job was done by the end of the evening. This will certainly cut down on the dust in the pits and make it easier for drivers to get on and off their pads...."

The folks at Capital City Speedway are doing everything they can to spread the word that their track is 'back'.

*One of the things that will help us rebuild the spectator base at Capital City Speedway is promoting it every chance we get. And one of those chances is going to come along next Tues. June 13th, as along with Rick Rump and John Holtan, Brian Copp and Charlie Price we will be on display at the Scotia Bank Place with Late Model cars as people attend the George Straight concert. Country music which has for ever been associated with Stock Car racing very strong in this area it is only a natural to take this opportunity to get the word out that stock car racing is alive and well at Capital City Speedway. It will take many promotions such as this to get that word out, but we will be doing them every opportunity we get. So if you happen to be one of the lucky ones heading to the concert on Tues night of next week make sure you drop by and say hello.

That's it for a while. CASCAR will be in action with its Super Series (St. Eustache) and Western Series (Sun Valley) on Saturday night.

The news above is culled from various sites that I frequent. To be included, please us your press releases... because we can't promote your events and teams if we don't know about it. Forward blog-worthy correspondence to James Neilson and Greg MacPherson.
