Celebrate Canada Day At Merrittville

THOROLD, ONTARIO … Quite a celebration is planned for Canada Day 2006 when Merrittville Speedway welcomes long-time supporter Boltworks for a huge night of Holiday action – Saturday July 1st.

While all of the 5 DIRT Weekly Racing Series Divisions will see action – Round Two of the Konzelmann Estate Winery Enduro Qualifiers will also take to the track.

The Enduro winner will start the season-ending 100 lap event Sunday September 10th from the outside pole position. Back on the Victoria Day Meridian Credit Union Monday Night Madness event, more than 40 cars took the green flag and Pat Scanlon survived the 30 lap affair and will now sit on the pole in September.

“We’re happy to celebrate Canada’s Birthday with the mid season Fan Appreciation Special,” reveals GM Erica Bicknell, “ 6 divisions of racing … $1.00 Hot Dogs all night and FIREWORKS … there’s definitely something for everyone and with Canada Day being on a Saturday – everyone can get into can get into the holiday spirit.”

Boltworks have been instrumental in many of the renovations that have been undertaken at the Speedway.

Sandy Howe and Ross Trout of Boltworks each have more than 20 years of experience each in the fastener industry with vast product knowledge that you won’t find just anywhere. Sandy and Ross know the nuts and bolts of nuts and bolts and their Eastchester Avenue East location has a complete supply of industrial fasteners – bolts, screws, nuts, washers, threaded rod, rivets, pins, drills, bits, taps, driver bits, hex keys, tools, industrial sprays and more.

Enduro Racing at Merrittville Speedway is enjoying a resurgence over the last couple seasons – all leading to the season-ending Konzelmann Estate Winery 100 lap event. In celebration of Merrittville Speedway’s 55th Season, 2006’s edition will pay $1555.55 to the winner. The 25 lap Ladies Event will pay $255.55.

Enduro Racing is something that just about anyone can get on track with. Just find yourself a car and with some safety modifications – you’re in the show. Depending on the outcome of each qualifier, a driver could run the same car throughout the summer and then again in the Fall Main Event.

Show Time is 7:15 PM with the grandstand gates opening at 5:30.
