MERRITTVILLE SPEEDWAY: '50s night features preview

50’S NIGHT FEATURES 4 CYLINDER TRUCKS AT MERRITTVILLE: BIG BLOCK GRAND MARSHALL CONTEST TO LAUNCH

Thorold, Ontario … Merrittville Speedway is celebrating it’s 55th Season in 2006 and when race fans enter the Grandstand Area July 8th – it will look like the Thorold track is ‘lost in the 50’s’.

“It’s all leading up to the 55th Anniversary Night,” informs GM Erica Bicknell, “ we’re going back to the 50’s with theme contests all night – race fans will want to dust off their Brylcreem … poodle skirts and saddle shoes for sure.”

The fun filled night that will feature the first of two 2006 visits of the Niagara Auto Sales 4 Cylinder Truck Division in addition to a full 5 division Dirt Weekly Racing Series program.

Also in preparation for the return of the DIRT Big Blocks – Monday August 7th – Merrittville Speedway will launch a free contest – looking for a Grand Marshall for the 100 lap Advance Auto Parts Super DIRT Series Event. The Grand Marshall Contest will continue through the rest of July and will be drawn during Modern Corporation’s Trucker Show ‘n Shine Event Saturday July 29th.

“It’s going to be quite an event when the Big Blocks return,” adds Bicknell, “ we want all our fans to share in the excitement as well.”
