OPEN WHEEL WAR: The end is near


TSN has a story saying that IRL boss Tony George and ChampCar head Kevin Kalkhoven have made a deal. All that remains is a dispute settling mechanism.
After more than a decade of sniping at each other, there are signs of peace in the North American open-wheel war. According to the Indianapolis Star, Indy Racing League founder Tony George and Champ Car co-owner Kevin Kalkhoven have come to a power-sharing arrangement which would see drivers and teams from both series competing at the Indianapolis 500 in 2007.
"We've agreed conceptually (to share ownership), yes," George tells the newspaper from Richmond International Raceway, where the IRL was racing on Saturday. "Now we have to agree on how we would go about resolving differences that might come up."
