CASCAR: WHITLOCK SET FOR MOPAR CANADA DAY 300 AT BARRIE THIS WEEKEND

Three time National Champion Dave Whitlock and his #39 NTN-Bower/Nitrex Metal Technologies team roll into Barrie tomorrow for event three on the CASCAR tour this weekend at Barrie Speedway. Sunday is also a milestone for team owner/driver Whitlock who will be celebrating a special birthday.

When asked about the big 40, Whitlock said, "A win here on Sunday would make it even more of a special day so that would be our game plan."

Festivities surrounding the Mopar 300 weekend start Friday with the CASCAR display in downtown Barrie at the annual Promenade Days event. Several of the drivers will be on hand to sign autographs starting at 10 a.m. and the day will wind up with a parade of CASCAR race cars at 5:30 p.m. through the downtown streets to Lakeshore Drive where they will put on a pit stop competition at 6:00 p.m. for the fans.

Dave Whitlock returns to Barrie after posting a ninth place finish here at event #1 on the Victoria Day long weekend. Since then they have posted a fifth at the famed Mosport Road Course and sit sixth in the National Point Standings.
