BOS: Big Block tour makes maiden voyage to Brockville next Tuesday

BROCKVILLE, ON - There will be 4th of July fireworks on the Canadian side of the border next Tuesday. The Advance Auto Parts Super DIRT Series for Big Block Modifieds makes its first ever stop at Brockville Ontario Speedway for a 100 lap showdown at the Beast of the East.

"This is something that I have wanted to bring to our fans at Brockville for some time," says BOS promoter Paul Kirkland. "The opportunity to have these drivers and crews make a trip to our quarter mile track was a chance we couldn't pass up. We also hope our American neighbours will make the journey and make us part of their Independance Day celebrations," he added.

Brockville ran Big Block modifieds a couple of seasons ago with Steve Paine of Waterloo NY and Kingston's Danny O’Brien tying for the track title, showing small blocks could be quite competitive against their big block counterparts with extra horsepower.

However, there was no tour race on the schedule during that season. Billy Decker leads the point standings on the Advance Tour heading to Brockville, a track he has only run once in his career, followed by Pat Ward who has always been impressive when making the trip north.

O’Brien will be a force to be dealt with, as he leads the Brockville points standings for 358 Modifieds and already has two wins to his credit upping his career win total to 101. In addition to the Big Blocks, the Coca-Cola-Bob FM sponsored event will feature a $500 to win Street Stock event.

Time trails will take place between 6 and 7 pm with the first heats of the night getting underway at 7pm. Brockville Ontario Speedway is located just 13 kilometers north of Brockville on Highway 29.
