I just got off the phone with Montreal ChampCar event promoter Alan Labrosse.
I asked him if he is close to announcing an event schedule, a weekend line-up and other details for the late August event.
His response was, "No. We're not there yet. We hope to make some official announcements before the end of this month [May]. At that time, we'll announce sponsors, content, series, ticket prices, etc.... all of the info that people would like to have right now."
Labrosse only recently came to be the promoter of the event (for a second time) and it's understandable that he is still scrambling to put the pieces together.
Asked if CASCAR will be part of the weekend, Labrosse said, "I spoke with them today and we're still having on-going talks. They would like to be part of the Montreal weekend and we're interested in having them, but there's a few other things that I have to finalize before I get to that support race."
