CASCAR: Kerry Micks on a mission at Barrie Speedway. Veteran looking for solid ’06 season

MT. ALBERT, ON – Driving his 2006 Micks Motorsports Ford, veteran driver Kerry Micks is optimistic about the 2006 CASCAR Super Series season and his chances at Barrie Speedway.

“The good news is we are returning to Barrie Speedway with a sponsor for the CASCAR opener and we always run very well there,” said Kerry Micks. “We won the pole and finished second there last year.”

TTR – Two-Tyme Recycling & Disposal, a commercial and industrial waste and recycling collection services company based in Oro-Medonte, Ontario is on board the Micks Motorsports Ford for the CASCAR Super Series GO-RACING.CA 300 at Barrie Speedway.

“We are very pleased to have Two-Tyme Recycling & Disposal as a sponsor at the Barrie event,” added Micks 45, from Mt. Albert. “Ron Woods, the President of TTR is a sponsor at Barrie Speedway and Barrie's Brad Moran played a big part in putting this program together.”

Micks finished the 2005 season in seventh position with four top-three podium finishes, including a win at the Molson Indy in Toronto and at Autodrome St-Eustache in St-Eustache, QC.

“The bad news, we have no major sponsor for the remainder of the season and that is going to make things difficult,” added Micks. “Our plan is to go to Barrie, win the race, then hopefully our sponsorship, or lack of it, will look after itself.”

The GO-RACING.CA 300 is the first CASCAR Super Series race of the season and will take place Saturday and Sunday, May 20-21 at Barrie Speedway located north of Barrie, Ontario on the 1/3 mile tri-oval. The green flag is scheduled to fly Sunday night at 8:30 p.m.
