The new C70 model will use a 178bhp version of Volvo's 2.4-litre five-cylinder turbodiesel engine.No performance figures have been announced, but Volvo insiders say the D5 will be very similar to the 2.4-litre petrol model, so expect 0-62mph in around nine seconds coupled with 40mpg economy.
Prices are expected to start around £27,000 when the C70 D5 goes on sale in August, with the same Sport, SE and Lux trims as the other C70 models.
