CASCAR: JACOMBS SET TO TAKE TO THE TRACK FOR SEASON OPENER

HAMILTON, ON - The season opener of the CASCAR Super Series 2006 schedule is set to take place this Victoria Day long weekend at Barrie Speedway. After many years of opening the season at Delaware Speedway, London’s popular half mile, the first event this year will take place on the tight confines of the Barrie track. The fans are going to see 250 laps of all out rubbing and racing when 28 cars take to the track for the GoRacing.ca 300.

“We are excited that the season is about to start and there is no doubt in my mind that the fans are going to get their moneys worth this weekend,” said Dave Jacombs. “Barrie is known for its competitive bumping and grinding style and I am sure this race will be no different. We have our #88 Lou’s BBQ/CPS Flooring Taurus geared up and ready, so let’s go racing.”

The schedule will see a full slate of home track competitors and the CASCAR Super Series on Saturday with the CASCAR Time Trials at 4:30 p.m. and the first of two CASCAR fifty lap qualifying events set to take the green at 8:45 p.m. On Sunday, home car features will start the day off at 3 p.m. with the CASCAR Autograph Session penciled in for 7 p.m. and the start of the Go-Racing.ca 250 at 8:30.

Barrie Speedway has recently been expanded to a 1/3 Mile Tri-Oval and it is located a few miles north of Barrie off Hwy. 11 at the 8th Line of Oro-Medonte.
