Team Fastline ready for CASCAR Super Series opener at Barrie Speedway

HAMILTON, ON (May 16, 2006) – Fastline Motorsports team drivers Jeff and Jim Lapcevich will compete in the CASCAR Super Series GO-RACING.CA 300, the first stop in this year’s CASCAR Super Series tour. With their Tim Hortons - EMCEA Transport Fastline Motorsports Chevrolet Monte Carlos, the team will be ready for racing at Barrie Speedway this weekend.

“We are looking forward to starting the season and it should be a good one,” explained Jeff Lapcevich, 36-year old father of two from Caistor Center. “Tim Hortons and EMCEA Transport are back on board as our team’s major sponsors and we are extremely happy about that.”

The CASCAR Super Series GO-RACING.CA 300 will take place Saturday and Sunday, May 20-21 at Barrie Speedway located north of Barrie, Ontario on the 1/3 mile tri-oval. The green flag is scheduled to fly Sunday night at 8:30 p.m.

“Everything is ready to roll and we had a good test last week,” added Jim Lapcevich, 34, from Hamilton. “The crew has been busy getting the equipment ready for Barrie. Both Jeff and I are looking for a strong year and Barrie should be an exciting start.”

Barrie Speedway is located on the 8th Line of Oro-Medonte between Barrie and Orillia just off of Highway 11, 10 minutes north of Barrie and 10 minutes south of Orillia.

About Jeff Lapcevich:
Jeff Lapcevich finished the 2005 CASCAR Super Series with four top-ten and three top-five finishes including a second place finish on the Mosport International Raceway Road Course and a third place finish at the Great Canadian Race at Delaware Speedway.

Jeff Lapcevich began his career on road circuits, and the experience acquired in this form of motorsport has developed into a successful career on the CASCAR tour, as he has won five road course events in the past three years in CASCAR.

In 2005, Jim Lapcevich captured two top-ten finishes in the CASCAR Super Series and one top-five finish with a fifth place finish at the Mosport International Raceway Road Course.

With a strong background in oval track events, Jim Lapcevich has progressed from the Saturday night "bull-rings" to become one of the top drivers in CASCAR, with several victories in this national series.
