VERNON, BC – The 2006 “FLO-PRO.COM” CASCAR West Series season opener gets underway on Saturday May 20th at the prestigious Sun Valley Speedway paved half mile oval track in Vernon BC.
A record field of Rookie drivers has entered this years FLO-PRO.COM / CASCAR West Series program setting the stage for what will be an exciting and entertaining season of racing. Among the Rookie challengers will be Raichelle Wagner of Hague Saskatchewan, one of two female drivers in CASCAR racing.
Jessica Cyr of Sechelt, BC.is also running her Rookie year in CASCAR, but is contending the National Super Series. Brothers Scott and Chris Dennis from Edmonton, Shawn Press of Calgary, and Robb Zimmer of Kamloops are among the full crop aspiring contenders for this year's Rookie title.
A host of veteran CASCAR racers are returning this year hoping to dethrone five time CASCAR West Champion Kevin Dowler of Edmonton, AB who is also back to do battle on the tarmac, and no doubt, has his sights set on yet another crown! Wade Lee, Todd Nichol, and the father and son team of Carl and Daryl Harr will be on hand to ensure Dowler doesn’t have an easy time.
