FREDERICTON, NB – The 2006 season is just around the corner and New Brunswick International Speedway will be officially kicking of the pre-season in the unlikeliest of locations – a mall. The Regent Mall in Fredericton will host the annual mall car show this year this coming weekend, May 5-7th (mall hours).
Fourteen cars will be on display throughout the mall including Sportsman Champion Bradley Logan, Sportsman Rookie of the Year Gene Mersereau, and Pro Stock Rookie of the Year Myles Harris.
Many of the drivers will be in attendance to answer questions about their high powered vehicles and meet fans.
The Regent Mall Show isn’t the only car show on the pre-season schedule as the following weekend, Riverview Ford Lincoln will host its annual outdoor car show for NBIS stock cars on Saturday, May 13th from 10am-2pm.
The long weekend in May marks the big kickoff to the 2006 season as the cars hit the track for the first time on Saturday May 20th with practice day from noon until four. The following day is the Riverview Ford Lincoln Season Opener on Sunday, May 21st at 2pm. Then on Monday, May 22nd, NBIS caps off opening weekend with the first Enduro 200 of the season at 2pm.
