Canada’s 162 Mazda dealerships can now offer their customers the complete line of premium quality Yokohama car and light truck tires, the two companies have announced.

The Mazda Canada Inc. dealer network will have access to the complete spectrum of tires from Yokohama Tire (Canada) Inc. as well as the original equipment (OE) replacement sizes for Mazda cars and trucks under an agreement that significantly expands the Yokohama distribution system.

The agreement is effective immediately, and marks the first direct relationship for Yokohama Canada with an auto manufacturer’s dealership network.

“We expect Yokohama tires to be popular in Mazda dealerships,” said Bruce Carmichael, Project Manager, Parts Operations for Mazda Canada.

“This agreement not only helps Mazda dealers maintain their good service relationships with their customers, it helps expand Yokohama’s retail presence without compromising our existing tire dealer network,” explained Eric Dedoyard, Director of Sales for Yokohama Canada. Mazda dealerships will work with existing Yokohama dealers to manage product distribution.

The Mazda arrangement is just the first of what is expected to be an expanded relationship with new car dealerships, Dedoyard added. “Car dealers look increasingly to products like tires to help build and maintain long-term relations with their customers and represents an ideal fit for a premium brand like Yokohama,” Dedoyard said.
