CASCAR: Castrol renews DJ Kennington
ST. THOMAS, ON – Beyond his consistent top finishes, DJ Kennington is one of CASCAR’s most colourful drivers. Since he broke into the CASCAR SuperSeries in 1994, those colours have been the red white and green of Castrol.
Today, Wakefield Canada, the country’s distributor of Castrol lubricants, renewed DJ’s contract as the company’s headline race program in the country ensuring the Castrol logo will adorn DJs operation for some time to come.
Last season, DJ picked up four checkered flags including a sweep of CASCAR’s western swing. This year could easily result in a season championship for DJ’s #17 car. If so, or even if DJ finishes second or third, the Castrol one-year contract will add bonus dollars to increase Kennington’s earnings.
Other goodies in the contract include new hauler with a custom paint job, new pit tent, new driver’s suit and crew uniforms, plus a stepped-up investment in marketing and PR activity to capitalize on DJ's driving talent and out-there personality.
“DJ has been loyal to the Castrol brand for more than a decade,” explains Anthony Stadelman, marketing manager of Wakefield, noting that DJ has turned down other sponsorship offers in favour of the oil brand along the way.
DJ is looking forward to running again and winning under the Castrol banner. “This year, we’re bringing home all the hardware!”
