Not usually noted for its frugal habits, the Jag saloon has just been driven for 1,000 miles on a single tank of fuel.The original idea was for a five-strong team of drivers from Jaguar to drive from John O'Groats to Lands End on a single fill.
When the team completed the 840-mile journey, they realised there was still a bit of fuel left, so they carried on to top 1,000 miles.
A total of 1000.2 miles was shown on the odometer before the tank ran dry, with an overall economy of 53.5mpg.
