BRIGHTON SPEEDWAY INTRODUCES ONE-WAY RADIO COMMUNICATION TO ALL CLASSES

BRIGHTON, ON – Quicker response times, reduced secondary incidents and the ability to quickly line up the field after a caution flag will be an added bonus for drivers and the fans at Brighton Speedway Park this season. Introduced in the 2005 season to the Bainer’s Radiator Canadian Modified drivers, RACEceiver one way radios are now required by all drivers at Brighton Speedway Park.

Race Director Tim Whitehead anticipates that the show will be faster, with fewer delays and a safer race environment for everyone in and around the track. The 1600 pre-programmed UHF 450-470 MHz frequencies, designed to listen to one channel at a time with no auto scanning function, allow him to give drivers specific instructions about line ups, and warm them of any cautions on the track.

“The Bainer’s Radiator Canadian Modifed races ran smoothly last year because we could give them directions through the ear piece they all wear. We believe that the other classes, and the fans, will certainly benefit from our increased ability to tell all drivers what may be happening on the 1/3 mile clay oval.” Brighton Speedway Park understands that the RACEceiver has been mandated by 600 Racing, Dirt Motorsports/ World of Outlaws, Southern Ontario Sprints and Weekly Dirt Racing as well as numerous other series and tracks across Canada and the United States.

“We have the desire to stay up to date and current with practices that protect our drivers, while benefiting the fan base. Adapting this technology keeps us in that loop of current practices,” says Whitehead.

The Coca-Cola Full Throttle Season Opener, scheduled for April 29th, will be the first opportunity for everyone to test the system and work with the drivers while in their cars and wearing the ear pieces. The green flag flies at 7:00pm. Admission to the Season Opener is $2.00 with a donation of non-perishables for the local food bank.
