BARRIE SPEEDWAY: Steve St. Onge joins Barrie Speedway ownership team

From Barrie Speedway's website....

Barrie Speedway is pleased to announce the addition of Steve St. Onge as a new partner at Barrie Speedway.

St. Onge, a well-respected and successful business owner in Barrie, has been a long-time sponsor and supporter of Barrie Speedway. Steve's relationship with the track started as a fan, but blossomed after attending Barrie's racing school and his involvement at the track has grown ever since.

"I'm really excited about the new venture with Barrie Speedway, the track has come a long way and we want to keep that momentum", says St. Onge. "I've spent a lot of time racing here and I think that gives me a great perspective on what we can do to make sure Barrie Speedway is where drivers want to race. I'm looking forward to working with everyone at the track to make a great place even better."

St. Onge is also an accomplished racer himself, with stints in all three Barrie Speedway divisions. When he's not behind the wheel he operates a very successful recreational vehicle business, St. Onge Recreation, at Molson Park in Barrie. He's recently added a second outlet, Barrie Dock and Marine, on highway 11 just north of Gasoline Alley.

"Steve brings a lot to the table", says Barrie's Brad Moran. "He's got deep roots in the community and can really help us drive more sponsorship to the track. He's also well-respected and well-liked here at the track and has established a great rapport with the drivers and crews. He's passionate about racing and so am I -- you can expect lots of excitement around the track as we really kick things into high gear!"

Former partner Gord Coates has left the track to pursue other interests. Barrie Speedway wishes Gord the very best in his future endeavours.
