Monday morning notebook....

Was up at St-Eustache on the weekend for the CASCAR Super Series race. On the way into the track, there was this sign. Do they know something the rest of us don't? Wishful thinking... a Freudian slip... or maybe they just left the french equivalent of the words "Truck Series" off because they wouldn't fit after "NASCAR"? Who knows.

NEXT.... Did you ever do a "WHOIS" search for a website. I did one for NASCAR.CA.... Hmmm.

NEXT... Andrew Ranger was racing Dave Jacombs' #88 Lou's / CPS Ford at St-Eustache on Saturday night and did an admirable job under tough conditions. The friendly youngster, who races just about anything, made his asphalt debut at the flat, 4/10-mile oval. Losing just two laps to the leaders in his first-ever outing in that type of racing was a great accomplishment, IMO. And as was Carpentier a week earlier at Cayuga, Ranger was a gentleman, spending lots of time with the fans who came out to see him.

NEXT ... A while back, Tony Stewart said he deserved to be fired if he didn't make The Chase. Well?

FINALLY.... A guy named Michael Schumacher said he's going to retire from racing. Another guy named Jacques Villeneuve said this Schumacher fellow won't be remembered. Do you think he's right?
