Chapman improving

By John Hopkins

Inside Motorcycles and IMX contributor Jon Chapman is reportedly making excellent progress following a serious motocross accident last month.

According to an email received Monday from his mother, Jo-Anne Chapman, Jonathan has exceeded doctors' expectations in the pace of his recovery.

"Exciting things are happening and Jon is awake now and progressing well, actually above expectations for his injury, but he has a long road to journey for rehabilitation," Jo-Anne Chapman wrote. "It has been a relatively short time since his accident and yet he's showing steady, continual improvements, which surprise the doctors and they have told us that a full recovery is possible, but make no promises. All in all, Jon is awake, improving daily, and will likely move to a facility for rehabilation work this week!"

She added in a separate note that Jonathan sustained no other injuries in the accident, and he had no surgery, save for a tracheotomy and a small incision for a brain pressure monitor, which has now been removed.
