The
Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione, without a doubt the most beautiful car that will be shown at the Paris Auto Show.
For once, a car that maintains all the promises of the concept car that anticipated it, even if three years is a long time to wait.
The engine is different from the one of the concept: it's the new 4.7-liters Maserati V8 with 450 PS.
The body is carbon fiber, on a steel chassis. According to
Alfa, the
8C has a negative lift, even though there are no visible spoilers.
More details on the engine, a 90° V8 with a capacity of 4.691 cc, built in aluminium. Power output is 450 ps at 7,000 rpm (and a 7,500 rpm redline) and 470 Nm of torque at 4,750 rpm. Distribution is via a chain-driven overhead camshaft, with 4 valves per cylinder, with continuous variation of the phase of the aspiration valves. The clutch is bi-disc.
The transmission is a transaxle six-speed robotized gear-box with 5 settings (manual-normal, manual-sport, automatic-normal, automatic-sport and "ice"). The
8C has a mechanic limited-slip differential.
The
8C Competizione has 20" alloy rims with 245/35 tyres at the front and 285/30 at the rear.
