Finally, the official images of the
Lancia Delta HPE Concept.
As often happens, they
come from abroad before being released by the Fiat press office.
The
Delta Concept should be shown in public for the first time at the next Paris auto show, while production should start sometime in 2008.
The
Delta concept is 4.50 meters long, 1.80 meters wide and 1.50 meters high, while the wheelbase is 2.70 meters long. The trunk has a capacity of 400 liters.
The design, by the Centro Stile
Lancia is partly inspired on the Beta
HPE of the seventies. With this car Lancia aims to offer very high levels of comfort and luxury for a hatchback. Legroom for the rear passengers can be increased by moving the rear seat, while the interior is decorated with wood veneers, leather, chromed metal and alcantara.
The engines of the production
Delta should start from 120 hp (probably the new 1.6 liters JTD turbo-diesel engine) and go up to over 200 hp (probably a 4 cylinder turbocharged gasoline engine).
