Hamilton, ON, Friday Sept. 8, 2006: In surprise news today, Dave Jacombs announced that Champ Car driver Andrew Ranger will be piloting the #88 Jacombs Racing/Lou's BBQ/CPS Flooring Ford Taurus tomorrow at Autodrome St. Eustache. This is event number 10 in the eleven race CASCAR Super Series schedule."This deal happened really fast," stated team owner Dave Jacombs. "We got a call on Thursday afternoon and basically the deal got done. I am really excited to have Andrew drive our car this weekend in front of a home province crowd," he added.
Andrew Ranger, from Roxton Pond Quebec driver of the #27 Mi-Jack Conquest Racing Ford-Cosworth Lola moved to the Champ Car series in 2005, where he finished on the podium in just his second Champ Car start, finishing second in Monterrey, Mexico. He had his best qualifying results in Portland and Cleveland, with his fourth-place Cleveland starting spot being his best. He earned six top-10 finishes including two in a row to end the year, propelling him past Ronnie Bremer and Cristiano da Matta to finish 10th in the final standings.
Schedule of events: Gates open at 2:00 p.m. with CASCAR practice on the schedule from 5:00 - 6:00 p.m., time trials at 8:00 p.m. and the CASCAR Super Series 200 scheduled to take the green flag at 9:30 p.m.
