Headz Gamez to sponsor Peter Shepherd, No. 50 NASCAR Craftsman Truck at Memphis

(NOTE: A big fat checkered flag to Headz Gamez Int'l for stepping up to support a young Canadian racer as he makes his first steps in NASCAR. These guys should really be applauded and supported for what they're doing. We need more Canadian companies like Headz Gamez Int'l! ... G.M.)

PRESS RELEASE

CONCORD, NC – Roush Racing announced today that Griddly Headz Board Games whom has been awarded the NASCAR license has signed on to sponsor the No. 50 of Peter Shepherd in the O'Reilly 200 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race on July 15 at Memphis Motorsports Park.

"We are extremely proud to have this immense opportunity to be part of the NASCAR world but that is secondary to the pride we feel to be able to support such a brilliant and up and coming driver such as Peter Shepherd III," said CEO and President Kerry Martens. We believe that Peter has the ability to be one of NASCAR's brightest stars and we take pride in associating the "world's toughest board games" with such an entity as the Roush Racing team.

Shepherd was selected as one of the 25 finalists for Roush Racing's Driver X competition in 2005, and was quick to impress. Following a stellar performance at Martinsville, Shepherd advanced to the second round of the competition at Darlington, where he continued to make an impression on team owner Jack Roush.

"When I saw Peter's performance at Martinsville, it reminded me so much of a young Mark Martin, someone who has the ability to learn and adapt very quickly," said Roush. "He is one of the most talented 19 year-olds I've ever seen."

Shepherd, 19, will make his first NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series start for Roush Racing this Saturday.

"I'm really excited to be heading to Memphis to make my first start in the Craftsman Truck Series," said Shepherd. "I've been looking forward to this opportunity for a long time, and to get to do it with the support of Headz Gamez is really great. They've been involved in racing, but this will be their biggest involvement to date. I'm ready to get to Memphis and get them a good finish."
