CASCAR: Sun Valley Twin 100s update

VERNON, BC - In the first Twin 100 qualifying sprint race on Saturday night at Sun Valley Speedway, five-time CASCAR Super Series National champion Don Thomson (Home Hardware Chevy) dominated the field, coming home in front of his Fitzpatrick Motorsports teammate J.R. Fitzpatrick (Milwaukee Tools Chevy) and Scott Steckly (ERB Dodge Charger).

In the second 100, Kerry Micks (Micks Motorsports Ford) took the checkered flag, ahead of Peter Gibbons (Canadian Tire Chevy) and Brad Graham (Challenger / Logel's Dodge Charger).

According to Joel Robinson, who called with this update (thanks!), rookie Jason Hathaway was strong in the Snap-On Dodge Charger. Western Series regular Todd Nichol ended up in the wall near the end of his race, crushing his front clip, while the Harrs (Carl and Daryl) both experienced trouble.

The Castrol 300 takes place this afternoon at the half-mile Sun Valley Speedway tri-oval.
