SOD ENTERS VACATION COUNTRY AS THE POINTS BATTLE HEATS UP

By Ken Pelkie of Sprints on Dirt

Michigan Vacation Country plays host to the Engine Pro, Sprints on Dirt, presented by Total Seal, touring series this weekend as Winston Motor Speedway welcomes them back on Friday night, June 10th after a one year absence. The last appearance in 2003 saw Jason Blonde of Litchfield, Michigan take the win in a rain plagued event. Look for series point leader Tim Norman to be on hand with a host of entries which will include Ben Rutan, Nick Mulheim, Dain Naida, Gregg Dalman and defending series point champion, Dustin Daggett along with many others.

Saturday, June 11th the series moves up to Merritt Speedway just outside of Houghton Lake for a 25 lap feature event on the fast quarter mile. Last season, Tim Allison edged Dustin Daggett in the June event in a hotly contested battle while Daggett came back to claim the other two appearances in the three race series at the Speedway. Racing is always fast and furious when the sprints are at Merritt.
