June 8, 2005. Mid America Motorsports President Dave Didero is pleased to announce that GE Consumer & Industrial will be the primary sponsor for the #20 Chevrolet driven by Mark Swain for CASCAR Super Series events taking place June 19th on the Road Course at Mosport International Raceway along with the annual CASCAR stop at the Toronto Indy on July 10th.

"We're very happy to have a solid sponsorship package with GE Consumer & Industrial and Mark for these two events" said Didero. "Mark competed very hard in the opening round at Delaware Speedway; we just had some tough luck with people running into us. He's a very strong road racer and we'll have a good car ready for him to race".

This is Mark's second season of competing in CASCAR Super Series events. He ran a select schedule last year that included the races on the Mosport Road course and the Toronto Indy circuit. His talents shone as brightly as the Nighthawk halogen headlamps from GE at Mosport where he charged through the field after starting 24th and gained 13 positions, just missing out on a top ten finish.

"I'm really excited to be part of this team and looking forward to these races" declared Mark Swain. "We're going to be working very hard preparing the cars so that we're ready to compete right from the first practice session"

New ultra-bright Nighthawk(tm) replacement automotive headlamp bulbs from GE are available at retailers throughout the U.S. and Canada. Nighthawk bulbs give consumers the brightest GE automotive lamps available and offer greater night driving confidence.

Nighthawk sealed beams offer consumers, on average, up to 39 percent greater brightness when compared to GE's standard original-equipment halogen bulbs. Nighthawk capsules offer, on average, 33 percent additional brightness; and Nighthawk fog lights offer, on average, 17 percent additional brightness. Because of the range of the new Nighthawk product line, 98 percent of cars and light trucks on the road can upgrade to this new technology. Motorcycle headlamp bulbs are also available.

Automotive Product Manager for GE Consumer & Industrial Lighting Jim Gerson stated "The improved brightness helps the driver see further down the road which can be a tremendous help in many night driving situations. We recommend upgrading to Nighthawk, rather than just waiting until your current headlamp fails. Drivers of every age can appreciate the benefits of improved visibility at night".

The CASCAR Super Series competes at historic oval tracks like Delaware Speedway, Cayuga Speedway along with the challenging road course at Mosport International Raceway and also on the temporary street circuit at the Toronto Molson Indy.
