GEARY, NS (2005 June 15) - The CARQUEST Pro Stock Tour will make its first stop for 05 in New Brunswick this Saturday for The Parts For Trucks 100 at New Brunswick International Speedway (NBIS). The race is round three of 11 for the series 2005 championship chase and is also round one of four in the Parts for Trucks / Plasti-Kote Challenge.

Historically, the series stops at NBIS are somewhat of a rivalry between series regulars and NBIS pro stock weekly competitors. Last year Donald Chisholm (Antigonish), a series regular, won two of the three series stops at NBIS. NBIS regular Matt Harris (Fredericton Junction) won the third event.

More than 30 entries are expected for The Parts for Trucks 100 including local series regulars Shawn Tucker (Fredericton, defending series champion), Kevin Moore (Fredericton), Brent Wiggins (Hanwell) and Brad Mann (Glen Levit). Mann is a former three-time NBIS pro stock division champ and the current leading rookie contender on the CARQUEST Tour.

NBIS regulars expected to be on hand to defend their home turf include Dave O'Blenis, Jerry Curtis, Matt Harris and Paul Gahan.

Former series champions Wayne Smith (Halifax, NS) and John Flemming (Halifax, NS) are also expected to enter the event, as is current series point’s leader Gordie Ryan (Wellington, NS).

This is the first of two stops at NBIS for the 2005 version of the CARQUEST Pro Stock Tour.

The Parts for Trucks / Plasti-Kote Challenge will see the top three point’s getters in the four Parts For Trucks-sponsored events share in $3500 bonus money at the series year-end banquet.

The pro stock cars will see two rounds of qualifying for The Parts for Trucks 100: Motor Mart Time Trials and GM Goodwrench Service Heat Races. The Time Trials will go at t 6:10 (moved ahead from the previously announced 6:20 start time to accommodate the number of entries expected), and the heat races are included in the race program, which starts at 7 pm. The Martin's Home Heating Street Stock and Coast Tire Sportsman will be racing as well.

The pit area opens at 1:30 pm and the grandstand opens at 5 pm.

NBIS is located on Highway 7 in Geary, south of Fredericton. With nearly 4,000 locations in North America, CARQUEST Auto Parts supplies the professional automotive service repair industry as well as do-it-yourselfers with replacement parts, tools and equipment.
