CASCAR Super Series: Jacombs St-Eustache report

JACOMBS POSTS TOP FIVE AT AUTODROME ST. EUSTACHE

Hamilton, ON: Dave Jacombs posted a season high fifth place finish Saturday night in the Whelan 200 at Quebec's Autodrome St. Eustache. The #88 Lou's BBQ/FAG Automotive/CPS Flooring Taurus Team had a great car all day. Practice saw them notch the 2nd quickest time overall. When time trials were finished Jacombs was 6th fastest, with the #1 Peter Gibbons breaking the track record to take the pole.

The #88 Taurus took the green flag from the third row and quickly moved into the top five. Just after the half way point Jacombs moved into the top three but a tap from another racer pushed him high and out of the groove. Dave lost several positions but was able to battle back to fifth for the checkered flag.

"The car was great tonight," stated Jacombs after the race. "I could go just about anywhere I wanted. We made a lot of changes to the car after Delaware and they worked," he added.

Results 1. #02 Kerry Micks, 2. #17 D. J. Kennington 3. #60 Ron Beauchamp Jr. 4. #4 Don Thomson Jr. 5. #88 Dave Jacombs.
