THOROLD, ONTARIO … Merrittville Speedway officials are preparing for it’s first Holiday doubleheader of 2005 with two big nights of action in celebration of the Canadian Victoria Day Holiday.CAA Niagara Member Appreciation Night at the Thorold track kicks off the excitement Saturday May 21st with a full card of racing featuring all 5 divisions that make up the DIRT Weekly Racing Series – L. St. Amand Enterprises 358 Modifieds, Original Pizza Logs Sportsmen, Seneca Niagara Casino Dwarf Cars, Hoosier Stocks and 4 Cylinders.
The CAA Member Night will also feature a rare break in the non-stop action at Merrittville as cars and drivers from all divisions will invade the front-stretch for an early season Autograph Session.
“We thought the fans would enjoy an early season meet and greet with our drivers,” relates (GM) Erica Bicknell, “ they’ll see the cars up close and looking their best … catch up with some old favorites or find someone new to cheer for.”
