BROCKVILLE ONT. SPEEDWAY: Cars hit the track at Brockville this weekend

BROCKVILLE-The final week before the official kick off of the 2005 racing season at Brockville Ontario Speedway has finally arrived. Crews, drivers and fans alike have been waiting 8 long months for the wheeled warriors to return to the fast one quarter mile clay oval just north of Brockville. This weekend offers the drivers a dress rehearsal for the big dance as a practice session has been scheduled for Sunday, May 8th from 11am to 2pm.

With some drivers switching divisions for this season, including Sportsman champ Kyle Dingwall, who is slated to make the jump to the Modifieds, the practice represents some important seat time. Other expected regulars like Perry Francis and Kyle Jacobs have made trips as far away as Ransomville, New York to do battle and get their cars ready for the new season.

The actual Rockway Pontiac season opener is scheduled for next Friday night, May 13th at 7:30 pm. The season kicks off with a full program featuring all 4 divisions, DIRT 358 Modifieds, DIRT Sportsman, Street Stocks and Rookies. The Modifieds will run a special 50 lap lid lifter to get the campaign started in style.

Young fans will have a chance to get more involved this season, Northwood 2 Construction & XTR Kirkland's Fuel are sponsoring the BOS Kids Club . Each race night will see 2 youngsters go home with brand new bicycles. BOS is also introducing a new kids program. A $2 kids membership entitles them to Free popcorn nightly, Wall Street United Church Face Painters, Nightly draws for pit tours & autographs, rides on track in a special kids club truck, an autographed photo of favourite driver, a chance to be ambassador flagger of trophy presenter, maybe even a ride with their favourite driver. Kids club members will also get to celebrate their birthday's in style with a free hot dog & coke. Kids 12 and under can register opening night in front of the souvenir booth.

Go karts will be back at Brockville on Wednesday nights beginning with their opener on Wednesday, May 18th at 7pm with the opener sponsored by Lightning cart supply. The rules for the 2005 enduros are now available on the track website at www.brockvillespeedway.com
