CASCAR: Derek Lynch plans five outings in '05

“BERMS-R-US”/DEREK LYNCH TEAM UP FOR 2005 CASCAR SEASON

OSHAWA, ON—“BERMS-R-US,” an Oshawa based company, has announced they will field a 2005 Dodge Charger in five CASCAR Super Series events with veteran Canadian stock car driver Derek Lynch behind the wheel.

“BERMS-R-US” made its debut with Canada’s premiere stock car touring series as the title sponsor of the “BERM-R-US 250” CASCAR event held in September 2004 at Kawartha Speedway in Fraserville, ON.

BERMS-R-US is a sustainable technology company whose product “Sound Sorb™” is used in the construction of berms around gun clubs and any other site where sound or vision barriers might be required. BERMS-R-US president Harvey Ambrose is very excited about the company’s involvement with CASCAR. “BERMS-R-US was the title sponsor at the CASCAR event at Kawartha Speedway last fall and the exposure our company received was incredible. The response from that event has prompted us to further our involvement in the series”, stated Ambrose.

Lynch, the manager/promoter at Kawartha Speedway, is one of Canada’s most accomplished asphalt short track racers. Lynch has had the opportunity to race with many of the present CASCAR competitors. “I am excited to be a part of the “BERMS-R-US” 2005 CASCAR program. I am really looking forward to being able to race with a lot of the guys presently competing in the CASCAR series that I grew up racing against,” Lynch said. “ I am also very excited about the fact J.J. Stewart Motors of Norwood is involved with the program. It gives us a great tie to my hometown and all the people who have helped me over the years”.

The CASCAR Super Series is a nationally recognised stock car series that will hold 12 events across Canada in 2005. The “BERMS-R-US” Dodge Charger will compete at both Mosport events (road course and oval), the Molson Indy in Toronto, Peterborough Speedway and will conclude the season with the CASCAR finale in September at Kawartha Speedway’s Summer Sizzler event. The 2005 Dodge Charger will be prepared by Mike McColl’s Racing Enterprises out of London Ontario. McColl is the leading builder of CASCAR chassis and cars. Lynch will drive a white Dodge Charger bearing the number 77.
