LUCAS OIL WWS: Gary Elliott to Race Late Models in 2005

May 3rd, 2005 - The green flag drops on the 2005 race season this Saturday night at Flamboro Speedway. Races start at 6:30 p.m.

Gary Elliott will make his debut in the Late Model division after 33 years with the popular Vintage Modified’s. During Elliott’s CVM run he has captured 2 Championships, many top 5 points finishes, 184 wins and accumulated 25 seasons of perfect attendance. He will race two CVM races in 05’.

One award Elliott has yet to win is Rookie of the Year. He will pilot his 2005 Dodge in the very competitive Late Models with his sights on being the top Rookie as well as aiming for a top 5 points finish.

Elliott has expanded his crew to 8 members. His wife Nonie will keep in touch on the head set as well as keep track of lap times. Jim Hulzinga, Elliott’s main spotter, will make his debut as crew chief. Jim will oversee the pit operations and keep the crew members busy with various duties. Thatcher Krupp is in charge of all chassis set-up. TJ has guided the Rookie team throughout the winter, making sure the right parts and set ups have been put in place. When TJ is away Dave Watson will head up race car changes. Steve Zivanic will start his 2nd full season as crew member helping on all aspects of the car. Amy Miskewicz will keep the car looking good, making sure that Gary has all the things he needs inside the car. Chris Young and Jason Chapman are in their first full season. Jason will assist Amy and Steve while Chris works with Dave Watson.
