Friday - Alain Bergeron came back strong to win the A-Main, at Albany-Saratoga Speedway in New York after missing an A-Main qualifying session.
Starting third on the grid, Alain Bergeron attacked the leader, Billy White, from the very first lap. On the eleventh lap Bergeron took the lead passing White on the inside.
From there he began to pull away from the other drivers. Bergeron made good use of the high and low lines to dispense with lapped traffic. It was a very popular win for the local fans who know Bergeron well, staying long after the race for a chance to meet a local hero.
There were no less than 35 Sprint Cars in the pits at Malta NY trying to qualify for a place among the 24 available spots for the A-Main. Bergeron’s evening began well with a win in his heat.
“The car was running very well tonight and I want to thank all our sponsors, fans, as well as everyone who supported us throughout the winter allowing us to return in 2005 with a very good car,” Bergeron said.
The victory was Bergeron’s sixth in the Empire Sprints series. The next action is in two weeks where there will be three races in three days...Thanks for your support...Contact: Team Bergeron/Alain
