SOD: Dustin Daggett eager go get going in '05

By Ken Pelkie

While winter still holds a firm grip around the Daggett Racing shop just outside of Lansing, Michigan, spring is in the air inside.

With little more than a month remaining until Dustin Daggett takes to the track in the Daggett family sprint car, the team appears ready and poised to mix up the schedule a bit in 2005. With engines freshened and new cars built, the two time and defending Sprints On Dirt champion will divide his time between the highly competitive SOD circuit with a sprinkling of 410 events throughout the season.

“We plan to start our season with the All Stars when they swing through Limaland and Eldora in late April” explained team owner/manager, Tom Daggett (Dustin’s Uncle). “Then we will see how the 410 portion goes and make a decision as to how many 410 races we will attend – we will at least be competing in both WOO shows in the state, along with the two All Star Shows at Hartford this season”.

“As for SOD, we don’t think that we will be running for the Championship, but will be at Crystal Opening Day and do as many races with them as possible” Tom went on.

Sponsorship returning to the Dowker powered Maxims will be Tri-County Collision; General Signs; Airgas; R & M Building Systems, and Ohsweken Speedway. New also for 2005 will be Engine Pro; Total Seal; Keizer Wheels, DMI and Hoosier Tires.

Newly designed Tee-shirts by Vision Graphix of Memphis, Tennessee have arrived. Fans may view and purchase them at the team transporter on race day or by visiting Dustin’s Official Website at www.dustindaggett.com
