CASCAR: Whelen signs on

TORONTO, ON – CASCAR and Whelen Engineering Company jointly announced a new sponsor partnership today that will see a cash awards program established for competitors in CASCAR's three series': the Super Series, Sportsman Series, and Western Series.



For more than 50 years, Whelen and its 800 fulltime employees have provided innovative emergency lighting and siren products in the automotive, aviation, industrial, emergency management and traffic management markets. Whelen is also a household name to race fans across America. Whelen is the title sponsor of the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour and the Official Licensed Warning Lights of NASCAR. The company also provides emergency lights for safety vehicles, tracks and pace cars for ASA, ARCA, IRL, CART, IROC, SCCA, The World of Outlaws, and now for CASCAR.

"With its rich heritage in motorsports, Whelen is a name well-known to race fans throughout Canada," stated CASCAR president Tony Novotny. "We are very pleased to welcome Whelen as an Official Sponsor of CASCAR, and on behalf of the competitors in our three series' I would like to thank Whelen for the cash awards program they have put in place for the 2005 race season."

In addition to a season-end award, a cash award will be made available in Whelen's name for each Championship points event in the CASCAR Super Series, Sportsman Series, and Western Series.

The CASCAR Super Series is Canada's top level of stock car racing, with events held in Ontario, Quebec, Alberta, and British Columbia. Over 150 race teams across the country compete in CASCAR's three series': the Western Series, Sportsman Series, and the Super Series.
