HAMILTON, ON – Cameron Motorsports’ lead ICC and Rotax driver Robert Wickens has been awarded a Formula BMW USA Junior scholarship for 2005. “When we heard Robbie got the scholarship, we did all we could to find him the best team and funding to compete in 2005,” said Cameron Motorsports owner Bob Cameron.
A few days later the entire package for Wickens came together with the help of MMG Financial Motorsports Division.
“I can't get the smile off my face,” Wickens said. “This is the series that I have dreamed about being in, and now thanks to Bob Cameron of Cameron Motorsports and Malcolm McMaster of MMG Financial, I have all I need to compete this year. They have really made all my dreams come true.”
Wickens has joined Team Apex Racing USA, a new team to Formula BMW, but they come with impressive credentials including IRL experienced personnel. “For Cameron Motorsports and MMG Financial, it is very exciting to see our lead driver get this opportunity,” Bob Cameron said. “We have the utmost faith in Robbie, and we are sure he will represent Cameron Motorsports and MMG Financial very professionally.”
