Brighton Speedway & Kawartha Speedway team up

As planning for the 2006 Stock Car Seasons starts to materialize into schedules, Kawartha Speedway and Brighton Speedway have teamed up to offer fans some “Fast and Furious” racing action. Set aside the weekend of August 11th and 12th, 2006 for two great racing attractions and an incredible mix of asphalt and dirt track racing, at one low price.

On Friday August 11th the OSCAAR Outlaw Super Late Models will hit the asphalt at Kawartha Speedway. These record breaking fastest Late Models in Ontario, including Port Hope father and son drivers, John and Robert Bickle, will turn heads at record high-speed laps around the renowned paved speed plant.

The very next night, Saturday August 12th, Brighton Speedway will follow up with it's own display of dirt flying horsepower as the ever popular Southern Ontario Sprint cars come to town. Race enthusiasts will be lining up to catch the winged warrior favourites Adam West and Glenn Styres pull wheelies and turn 13 second laps around the 1/3 mile clay oval.

This complete weekend of grassroots stock car racing, quickly becoming known as “Fast and Furious” Weekend will be offered to fans in one low ticket price. The convenience and affordability will encourage fans to experience two fantastic back to back racing events, while experiencing the non-stop action provided by two of the areas top entertainment facilities.

Final details are being confirmed and up to date information can be viewed on the web-site at www.brightonspeedway.com. The first race event at Brighton Speedway Park is scheduled for April 29th, 2006 when the stock cars hit the track for opening night. Admission is only $2.00 with a non-perishable food donation that will support local food banks. Green flag flies at the new start time of 7:00pm.
