Timmy Megenbier To Compete In Red Bull Smokin’ Streets Ultimate Driver Event

MELROSE PARK, IL (August 23, 2006) – 15-year-old Timmy Megenbier has been invited to compete in the “Red Bull Smokin' Streets Ultimate Driver” karting event this Sunday, August 25th, 2006. The race will take place along the streets of downtown Kingston, Jamaica.

Megenbier, a recent WKA Grand National Champion, will be racing a Rotax powered Birel kart and will be the only American competing in the event. Drivers will compete for the prize of an all expenses trip to the Grand Prix Of Brazil Formula 1 race in October.

“I want to thank the Jamaican Karting Association, The Irie Karting Club and Red Bull for inviting me,” said Megenbier. “We have been racing against the Jamaican team for a few years and it will be great to compete with them on their home turf.”

Megenbier currently competes in the Skip Barber National Series, USAC Kenyon Midget Series and the Rotax Max Challenge series. He is a multi-time national karting champion and a Red Bull Drivers Search Semi-Finalist. In 2004 he competed in the Rotax World Finals in the Canary Islands and finished 5th, currently the highest finishing North American in the history of the Rotax series.
