BITS AND BITES: NEW TV SHOW WITH ITMN TOUCH

Inside Track Motorsport News Writer-At-Speed and Rally Tech guru Andrew Comrie-Picard looks set to host a new car modification show that’s set to air on the Global Television Network sometime on February 12.

I had the chance to drop in on ACP during the show’s filming in Toronto back in September, and the teams looked professional. A healthy budget and limited time make for some stressed out folks, while Inside Track Communications staffer and Late Model stock car driver Amanda Connelly was tapped to help judge the competition.

From all reports, the pilot episode looks to be a good one, so tune in on Saturday and check it out yourself.

Two teams, two cars, three days...who can build the best beast?!

WAR OF THE WHEELS is a new TV program for Global Television airing February 12. The show takes two teams of mechanics, provides them with a fully equipped auto shop and gives them the challenge of overhauling two identical second hand cars in under 72 hours. The aim for each team is to increase the resale value of each vehicle as much as possible – hopefully more than the other team.

At the end of the process, the cars are sold online to the highest bidder, with the profits heading to charity. Immediately following the airing of the show, the two cars will be auctioned off on e-bay to the highest bidder. All net proceeds will be donated to Smartrisk, a national non-profit organization dedicated to preventing injuries and saving lives.

Along the way, there will be several competitions to win automotive parts and flashy accessories. When the cars are ready there will be a drag race to see which team has done the best mechanical job.

It might take your local mechanic weeks and thousands of dollars to do what these teams are going to attempt to achieve overnight.
