MERZIG, Germany — The latest high-performance spin on the redesigned
Mercedes-Benz C-Class comes from German tuner
Carlsson Autotechnik.
Based on the
C350,
Carlsson's CK35 performance kit massages the
Mercedes 3.5-liter V6 to deliver 295 horsepower and 284 pound-feet of torque. The kit includes a stainless steel exhaust system with quad oval tailpipes, a sport air filter and reprogrammed engine electronics. Carlsson claims 0-60-mph acceleration in less than 6 seconds, with top speed reaching 168 mph.
The Carlsson aero body kit for the
new C-Class packages a front apron, a rear diffuser, side skirts and a rear spoiler, all of which contribute to the car's enhanced high-speed stability. Foglamps and driving lamps are integrated into the new front fascia, as is a polished grille insert.
Under the skin,
Carlsson lowers the suspension with revamped springs. The company's 11-spoke wheels come shod with 19-inch Dunlop SP Sport Maxx tires.
