Funny how after more than 50 years in competition with one and other, the
new Jeep comes along just after
Land Rover has updated its iconic off-roader.
Coincidence aside, the
new Jeep Wrangler arrives next month with prices starting at £17,995 for the two-door model that can trace its roots back to the Second World War original.
There's also a
new Unlimited model, which is actually limited to four doors, with a starting price of £19,995.
The two-door Rubicon model is the hairy-chested off-road version that comes with a 3.8-litre petrol engine for those who like to get dirty at the weekends.
The rest of the range makes do with a new 2.8-litre turbodiesel.
Sales start next month, with the
Wrangler aiming to pinch customers from its arch-rival, the Land Rover Defender.
