Russian Werwolf Biting at Heels of BMW and Mercedes

ST. PETERSBURG, RussiaOptima, a Russian design company, has announced it will produce a limited series of its Werwolf luxury car.

Russian WerwolfThe Werwolf was created as a domestic competitor for the Audi A8, BMW 7 Series and Mercedes-Benz S-Class. Its length of 204.7 inches matches that of the S-Class, the biggest model of the established brands, but with a width of 78.7 inches, it is narrower than the others. It is powered by a 305-horsepower Cadillac V8 engine, which is good for a top speed of 165 mph. Suspension elements were taken from the Mercedes-Benz ML-Class.

Optima says it is especially proud of the car's interior, which is exceptionally comfy, but the exterior looks a bit weird from certain angles.

There's another version in the planning stages which would come with a 440-hp engine and a four-wheel-drive system.

The Werwolf is priced at $150,000.
